Take off eye makeup gently
All that rubbing isn't doing the delicate skin around your eyes any favors. So Restrepo has a kinder technique: Saturate a cotton pad with an oil-based makeup remover (she uses Elizabeth Arden All Gone Eye and Lip Makeup Remover, ) and press it on your closed lid and lashes for 10 seconds. "It'll dissolve the makeup and do all the work for you," she says. Lightly wiggle the pad a few times to loosen everything, then wipe downward and watch it all come off.

Groom your brows in nanoseconds
To keep 'em in place all day, Dubroff pats on a bit of clear lip balm (we like , ), then runs a spoolie brush through them.

Stop eyeshadow from creasing
"It happens when your lids get oily," says Rebecca Restrepo, global makeup artist for Elizabeth Arden. She offers this crease-proof prep trick: Before you apply shadow, dab your lids with an oil-blotting sheet like Sephora Collection Herbal Rose Blotting Papers, . Pat on concealer, blot again, and you're primed and ready. (Pictured: Ck One Powder Eyeshadow in Obsessed, .)

Curl your lashes like a pro
Instead of clamping the curler only at the base of your lashes, which bends them into a 90-degree angle, squeeze it at the roots then pump it out along the lashes at two to three more spots to form a soft, natural curve.

Ease up on shampoo
Too much of a clean thing can backfire, leaving shine-zapping residue and stripping hair of its protective oils. "You only need a nickel-size drop of shampoo for hair that's chin-length or shorter, and a quarter-size drop on long hair," says hairstylist Tim Rogers, creative director of Living Proof hair care. "Emulsify it with water, then massage it just on your scalp. When you rinse, the suds will run through and clean the strands." (For one that's nice and gentle, try , .99.)

De-tangle damp hair from the bottom up
Brushing from the roots down can snap strands, so hairstylist Adir Abergel (who works his magic on Anne Hathaway) likes to start with the bottom few inches of hair. Work through them with a wide-tooth comb, then gradually make your way up your head, combing just a few inches at a time.

Put on concealer before any other makeup
This switch can seriously shorten your routine. "Blend it under your eyes, even if you don't have dark circles," says makeup artist Bobbi Brown. "You'll often find that this alone brightens skin so well you don't need much else."

Get more volume from your blow-dry
The ol' dry-your-hair-upside-down method is good, but for major, all-day fullness, this expert move works better: Mist damp roots with a volumizing spray, then tilt your head left and blast the right side of hair with your dryer, pushing the hair up and over your head to the left. When it's 90 percent dry, flip your head to the right and do the other side. Lush andlasting. (25 readers will win , ;Enter here!)

Hit the sweet spot with blush
"If you place it too high, it'll settle into under-eye lines," says makeup artist Pati Dubroff, who works with Charlize Theron. Start with your brush (or finger, for cream blush) on the center of your cheek's apple so it lines up with your pupil. Swirl lightly, then sweep it back along your cheekbone. And don't forget to smile! "This helps you see where to applyandavoid any lines," she says. (Pictured: in Classy Coral, .99.)

Double up on cleansing
"Face wash often doesn't remove all your makeup, particularly foundation and concealer, so use a wipe first," says dermatologist Jeanine Downie, M.D., director of Image Dermatology in Montclair, NJ. "And be sure to swipe it under your eyes and around your nose." (We like The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes, .50.)

Apply your skin care in the correct order
Yes, it matters—ifyou want anti-aging ingredients to be able to do their thing. After cleansing, pat on eye cream first. "The skin around your eyes has fewer oil glands, so it can dry out fast," says Arielle Kauvar, M.D., a clinical professor of dermatology at New York University Langone Medical Center. (Try Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream, .99.) If you use an antioxidant serum for day or a retinol treatment at night, smooth that on next. "These active ingredients need to go on bare skin in order to get the maximum benefits," says Kauvar. Follow with moisturizer and, for day, add sunscreen last.

Do the prettiest ponytail
For a style this adorable, follow the advice of Jennifer Aniston's hairstylist Chris McMillan. "The most flattering spot for a high pony is right at your crown," he explains. "Once hair is up, split the tail in half and yank each half out to the side. This creates a bit of texture and lift right above the base, which looks so stylish." And to spare your strands from breakage, use fabric hair elastics.

Get the smoothest shave
Steam helps soften skin and open up the hair follicles, so wait at least five minutes into your shower before you pick up a razor. Then lather on a moisturizing shave gel. (Try Skintimate Skin Therapy Dry Skin Shave Gel, .29.) Soap or body wash won't cut it: "They don't lubricate skin enough, leaving it more vulnerable to nicks and razor burn," says Kauvar. (In a pinch, use hair conditioner instead.) If you haven't shaved in a few days, glide the razor first in the direction the hair grows to avoid irritation, then go over skin once more against the growth.
