How to grow celery celery

You will need
  • - fungicide;
  • - liquid fertilizers;
  • - straw;
  • - paper and gum (rope) or cups from dairy products.
Instruction
The quality of celery seeds can be improved by “aging”: it is better that they lie down for three or four years before planting. Then, the seeds of stalked celery are recommended to be treated with a fungicide so that later the plant does not become ill with bacterial leaf spot. Sow seeds worth less. You can place them immediately on the garden bed. You can sow the seeds in containers, put them in a warm place and transfer to the garden in a few weeks. Celery seedlings should be planted after frost. In this case, it is desirable that during this period the height of the plants was 5 - 7 cm.
You can not grow celery near parsnip: in this case, both plants may suffer from celery flies. The stalked celery loves well-drained and fertilized land.Of great importance for the development of the plant is the constant soil moisture (only it is important to avoid flooding the roots). The soil is required to mulch, best of all - with straw.
On the garden beds should be placed at a distance of 20 cm from each other. Every ten days the stalked celery should be fed with liquid fertilizer (for example, infusion of nettle). Three - four times per season, it is necessary to loosen the beds.
When celery grows up to 45 cm, its stalks should be “packed” in dark paper, and tied with a string or put on a gum on top. Instead of paper for strapping, you can take high cups from under dairy products (in this case, you need to cut the bottom of the cup, put it on the petioled celery - a wide part of the ground, prikopat and pile). The upper part of the plant - about 15 cm - in all cases should remain free. Thus, in 12–14 days, the stalks are cleaned, made juicy and tender — that is, they become suitable for food.
Before the frosts, the stalked celery is dug out, taken to a damp and cool place and planted again the following year.
